About Sean Paul
Sean Paul Carleton, MA, LCAT, RDT (he/him), is a licensed creative arts therapist and registered drama therapist with a unique blend of expertise in both therapeutic intervention and healthcare simulation. As the Assistant Director of Technical Education at a large public healthcare behavioral health hospital, Sean Paul combines his passion for creative arts therapy with innovative simulation-based training programs that enhance both patient outcomes and staff competencies.
Sean Paul has extensive experience working with individuals across the lifespan, particularly focusing on emerging adults to older adults. He has worked with a wide variety of populations, including individuals on the autism spectrum, neurodivergent individuals, and those with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI). Sean Paul is committed to providing a therapeutic space that is compassionate, creative, and deeply attuned to each individual's needs. He believes in connecting the body and mind through a variety of interventions, creating a co-created journey of discovery that supports resilience and meaningful change.
Operating from a framework that emphasizes making meaning together, Sean Paul fosters a space of curiosity, rehearsal, and joy in therapy. He believes that the appropriate use of humor and joy is crucial in the therapeutic space, making therapy something that clients want to engage in and even find enjoyable. He uses creative interventions—such as drama, storytelling, and metaphor—to support individuals in expressing themselves in new ways, accessing untapped resources, and finding pathways forward that align with their personal goals.
Sean Paul works with individuals experiencing anxiety, personality disorders, depression, and relationship challenges. He believes that therapy is not about having the answers but rather exploring and making discoveries together, ensuring that clients feel both empowered and supported throughout their therapeutic journey. He integrates these insights into his work to help clients explore their unconscious patterns and deepen their understanding of themselves.
